Text Messaging (SMS) Terms

Last updated: August 14, 2026

InkXed is booking and client-management software for tattoo artists. When an artist turns on messaging, InkXed sends text messages from that artist to their own clients about those clients' own appointments. These messages are transactional — appointment confirmations, reminders, consent-form links, payment links, and aftercare. They are never marketing, and InkXed never texts anyone a message the artist did not initiate or configure.

Each studio texts from its own number. Every studio that sends messages has its own toll-free number, registered to that studio’s own business with the carriers. InkXed files that registration on the studio’s behalf and operates the software, but the number and the sender identity belong to the studio. A studio without its own verified number cannot send text messages at all.

If you are a tattoo client, the texts you get come from the artist you booked with, using InkXed to send them. This page describes exactly how that works, what you agreed to, and how to stop.

How you opt in

You give your phone number to your artist yourself — on their inquiry form, when booking, or on a consent form — for the purpose of them contacting you about your appointment. On the step where you enter your number, the form shows an optional SMS consent checkbox, unchecked by default, with the notice below. Checking that box is your consent to receive the text messages described here. Messages are sent by InkXed on your artist's behalf, from InkXed's messaging number; it is optional, and you can book without it. If you leave it unchecked, your artist has no way to text you about your appointment. InkXed never buys, rents, or otherwise obtains phone numbers.

You can see this for yourself on a live artist form: view a live inquiry form →

The consent notice shown on the form

By adding your phone number, you agree that your tattoo studio may text you about your inquiry or appointment: booking confirmations, appointment reminders, cancellation and reschedule notices, consent and intake form links, and aftercare instructions. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel. SMS consent is not required to book, and your mobile information will not be sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes.

What you'll receive

Transactional messages tied to your appointment. Typical examples, as an artist would send them:

Message frequency

Frequency depends on your appointments — typically a handful of messages around each one. There is no recurring or scheduled marketing series.

Costs

Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan. InkXed does not charge you for texts.

Privacy

We do not share mobile opt-in information or phone numbers with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing. Numbers are shared only with our SMS carrier (Telnyx) for the sole purpose of delivering the artist's message to you. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
